Men's Long Hairstyles
Most men with long hair wear it in a pony tail or loose. There is no reason we need to be restricted to this very small set of styles. This page will explore various long hair styles for men as well as related issues.
One simple man's hairstyle I really like is a four
strand rope. It is not simply a ponytail and not just a braid either.
To create a four strand rope, first learn how to do a regular four
strand braid. This is done just like a three strand braid, but with
four strands. Once you've mastered a four strand braid,
you
can learn a simple modification to turn it into a rope. As you braid,
every time you complete a row, take the two end strands and switch them
with each other, making sure the crossing pattern is alternating.
Another
hairstyle that looks really good on men, but that will probably require the
assistance of an expert braider to create is a five strand French
braid. I have had this done a couple times to my own hair, with very
nice results. Here are a few styles that have been sent in to me so far.

Advice for growing your hair long
by Shaun from Indiana, October 17, 2008
Wow... it's so nice to find someplace that actually knows what LONG HAIR is like. All of these style websites think that long hair only goes to your shoulders and no further. WRONG!
I've had my hair long for the past 9 years or so, and by long I mean mid-back to waist-length.
Danny: As far as advice for getting past that awkward phase between medium/long hair, the best advice I can give is to let it grow. Depending on how long and thick your hair is right now, I'd suggest getting it thinned a bit, and let it grow down to at -least- your shoulders before considering serious cutting.
Now, this doesn't just mean let the back get to that point -- you need to let -all- of your hair get long, otherwise you'll wind up with something more akin to a mullet, which no one should want.
After it hits shoulder-length, get it thinned again (if your hair is thick like mine, you'll likely need it) and have all of it trimmed up to a uniform length. From that point, just let it grow out - it's maintainence from then on, really.

waow, not only have you hi lighted the limited scope of hair syles for men with long hair "Most men with long hair wear it in a pony tail," but youve introduced a diverse range of other options available, i feel after reading ur article any man with long hair, who is still employing the standard ponytail should be shot, espessully when youve provided such dramaticly different styles available such as, "poney tail with some knots in it," ur vision into mens fasion leaves the rest of us in the dark, truly.
